Pisco Sour
I'm generally not a big mixed drink gal (with the exception of the occasional filthy dirty martini), but last night I tried a Pisco Sour, which I loved. It's a cocktail containing Pisco (a regional brandy), lemon or lime juice, egg whites, simple syrup, and bitters. Apparently, it originated in Chile or Peru -- no one's quite sure. But it's light and refreshing with a bit of a pucker.

Oooh, I love Pisco Sour. I had my first in Buenos Aires, it's popular all over South America but I think Peru seems to be the place where it's a national drink (sorry Chile). So where did you have the Pisco Sour? Was it at La Mar at the Embarcadero? That's where I got mines recently too!
Chef Ben, I read your posts when you were traveling and I thought of you as I drank it! The person who made it for me learned from the bartender at La Mar.
That sounds delicious!
