Outside Lands Festival

The worst concert experience of my life ever -- bar none. Officially, 40,000 people jammed into Golden Gate Park for the first-ever nighttime concert in the park. Beck sucks. The sound sucked. Radiohead, I think, was tremendous. I'm not sure as Georgia and I left after 15 minutes because we simply could not handle the throngs of people. Are we getting too old for this sort of thing? More likely, the concert promoters got greedy and refused to set a cap on the number of tickets sold.

What we saw of Radiohead:

That's horrible. You're right...greedy promoters. That's too bad, especially considering the great lineup. Was it Beck that was bad or just bad sound? -- David

Both. I've seen Beck many times and I suspect he was sick or something. He spoke more than sang. He couldn't hit any high notes. He rushed through all the songs. Plus the sound system sucked.

I've seen a few concerts on the polo fields and I can't say that I've been impressed any of the times....it's always a zoo and I always seem to be getting crushed. Sigh....I'm definitely getting old though....
