It feels like hitting my thumb with a hammer, but Dr. Green said all went well. My new #2 best friend? Viacodin. My #1 best friend? Mom, who arrived yesterday to help me.

Whew. I'm glad all is well although now you've got a bigger hand than the elephant man.
Come to Oakland with your mom for some sun and relaxation-rest the thumb, eat some food, drink some wine (I will carry the bottle).
that right hand could definitely serve as a weapon...! glad to see you're well and that your mum is there to keep you company and, um, to cut your fingernails...
