Oak-town

Against my will, I'm discovering Oakland. It's not that I hold a particular grudge against this city, it's just that I never saw the need for it ... with San Francisco right across the bay, what's the point?

Anyway, this rooftop garden is a short walk from my new office.

Against your will, I shall take you to lunch in Oak-town. There are some super cute little neighborhoods...really. Oh, and great food.

I've lived in Oakland for four years after 10 years in San Francisco. No, it's not San Francisco but there's a lot that's great about Oakland. Some personal favorites: better weather, the Paramount Theatre, Dona Tomas, Grand Lake and Market Hall. -- David
