Used to visit Aub Zam Zam often when I lived in SF in the 90s. This place is legendary, mostly because of its late owner, Bruno, who was known as the "Martini Nazi" for his gruff ways with customers. If you didn't order right (no frou frou drinks), hesitated while ordering, weren't dressed nice enough, he would kick you out. It truly was thrilling to see if you could actually finish a martini without getting shown the door. -- David
I love my adopted city of San Francisco. I've lived here since 1998. When I'm not working, I love going out to hear live music, staying home to read a book (or three!) running, making dinner for friends and yoga. Guilty pleasures: America's Next Top Model, a ballpark hotdog with sauerkraut and drinking wine in my pajamas.

I've heard those stories. It's much friendlier now, but what the heck is Aub?
